My name is William Renn. I'm 41 years old and I live in Delaware.
I went to college in Columbus Ohio and attended the Columbus College of Art & Design. I moved back and forth from Delaware to Ohio after college and eventually settled down in Ohio and worked as a graphic artist and illustrator for a daily newspaper for a few years. I left there and have since had many jobs both in and out of the art field. I took a hiatus from art for the past 6 years by working in the pharmaceutical field at Endo pharmaceuticals in their regulatory department and later at another pharmaceutical company in their clinical department as a clinical project assistant. A pretty radical departure for an artist, isn't it?
The time spent recently at the pharmaceutical jobs was just what was needed for me to thrive! I've been busy honing my skills and preparing for an eventual, inevitable return to art and I couldn't have had a better opportunity to find a way to allow my creative side and talents to further develop than the opportunities I've been given.
This definitive split between work and life was something that was desperately needed and I used the time to create many things which developed into much more. For example, in a strange turn of events which began with some of my drawings being posted on the Preston & Steve website sometime last summer, I was asked to do animations in a movie called 'The Curse of William Penn' which also has Kevin Bacon in it, thereby raising me to one degree of Kevin Bacon. Get to know me and you can brag that you're two degrees! That's just one of the many strange and wonderful things to happen to me.
Life is good and I thank the many generous people and friends in my life over the years. I've been given the opportunity of starting over and recreating my life in a manner that's better suited for myself and my own processes of creativity. I thank you all.
