My name is William Renn. I'm 40 years old, divorced, and I live in Delaware.
I went to college in Columbus Ohio and attended the Columbus College of Art & Design where I met my future wife and, some time after college, moved to Ohio and married. After a few months shy of 10 years of marriage, I left and returned to Delaware and reconnected with family and friends, and thanks in a strange way to the video game Ratchet & Clank and a friend's recommendation, I got a job at Endo pharmaceuticals in their regulatory department. I stayed there for more than 3 years and have recently found employment at another pharmaceutical company in their clinical department as a clinical project assistant. A pretty radical departure for an artist, isn't it?
This definitive split between work and life was something that was desperately needed. As a freelance artist, all of my time was spent pleasing others with my work, but it was never as satisfying as what I did for myself. Now I am able to draw whatever I want, whenever I want. For example, in a strange turn of events which began with some of my drawings being posted on the Preston & Steve website sometime last summer, I was recently asked to do animations in a movie called 'The Curse of William Penn' which also has Kevin Bacon in it, thereby raising me to one degree of Kevin Bacon. Get to know me and you can brag that you're two degrees! That's just one of the many strange and wonderful things to happen to me, but it was all due to my working in my spare time for myself.
I like my life as it is with the split between work and life, and thanks to many generous people and friends over the years, I've been given the opportunity of starting over and recreating my life in a manner that's better suited for myself and my own processes of creativity. I thank you all.
