  • Other than 'Gadzooks', what can really be said about these guys?

I returned to the Delaware area in early 2002 and was a faithful listener of Howard Stern. A long-time friend of mine, Darren, turned me onto this quirky pair on Y-100, Preston & Steve and shortly afterwards I became a convert. I started listening to them and, just like everything else you get to like, they were taken away. Overnight Y-100 had changed into something else and their morning duo was gone. Soon after that Howard left, so I couldn't even fall back to that, even.

Skip ahead a year or so and they reappeared on 93.3 WMMR out of Philadelphia. In that time I had gotten myself a new iPod and shortly after they returned, they began podcasting, so I am now happily able to get my daily P&S fix.

Anyway, one weekend I was sitting around my place bored. I remember thinking about getting caught up on some P&S podcasts and drawing for awhile, so I sat down and began listening while drawing and it affected my doodling around and before long I had 4 pretty cool drawings going. By the end of the weekend I had scanned the drawings in, colored them, and sent finished images off to to P&S in hopes of winning a 'Gadzooks" t-shirt. I didn't get a t-shirt for these drawings (though I did manage to get one later -thanks, Kim!) but they did post them on their site.

Go check out the Preston & Steve site. They rock!

It was pretty cool. At least it was a silly something I could show off to friends and family. Little did I know, however, that Rob Marcolina from Phrustrated Phan Films was a big P&S fan and was looking around their site and came across my drawings.
